Sinclair Refinery in Sinclair, Wyoming has agreed to pay a $378,000 penalty, update process equipment operating procedures, perform required training to workers, improve maintenance of equipment and perform integrity tests on pressure vessels and piping that will reduce the possibility of an accidental release of hazardous chemicals at the refinery.
The Cheyenne Police Department has developed a new strategy for school zone enforcement. Police spokesman Officer Dan Long says the new strategy will put more officers in school zones overall and target problem areas. under this new strategy expect to see a higher visibility of police presence and a continuation of strict enforcement in school zones.

Cheyenne police continue to investigate an accident involving a pedestrian that occurred at about 7:50am Wednesday morning near Baggs Elementary School. Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says when officers arrived on scene and found a 12 year-old Cheyenne girl had been struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the street. The Laramie County School District Community Relations office reports that the girl was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where she was treated for cuts and bruises and was being held overnight for observation.
