LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) Another top University of Wyoming official is leaving. Associate Provost for Academic Personnel Nicole Ballenger will return to be a professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics in the spring semester. Her decision means the provost and all associate provost positions will be open at the state's only public university.

In a letter to Provost Myron Allen, Ballenger wrote that she wants to teach some of the classes she has never had the chance to teach and possibly write an agriculture science book.

All but one of the changes among the provost and associate provosts have been made since President Robert Sternberg took the reins of UW on July 1. UW spokesman Chris Boswell tells the Associated Press that the changes were not ordered by Sternberg.
