Animal Shelter Director Let Go

The Board of Directors of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter announced today that Rick Collord is no longer employed by the Shelter. Max Maxfield, President of the Board of Directors, said “We appreciate Rick’s contributions to the Shelter since he was hired as Executive Director in 2008.”The Shelter Board has retained Ed Carleo, former Executive Director of the Cheyenne Family YMCA, to serve as interim executive director of the Shelter.Carleo retired from his position with the Cheyenne Family YMCA in 2009 after a thirty-one year career with the organization.The Shelter Board anticipates posting the executive director position locally and through national animal welfare and shelter management organizations in the next two to three weeks. Maxfield said “the Board is excited about the opportunity to recruit an executive director who can lead the organization to the next level. We will keep the community posted as the search process takes shape.”
