Alleged Cheyenne Home Burglar Bound Over for Trial

An 18-year-old Cheyenne man accused of burglarizing several Cheyenne homes in early December has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

According to court documents, Rodrigo Martinez allegedly burglarized five homes between Dec. 5 and Dec. 9, stealing at least nine guns, multiple pieces of jewelry and over $8,200 in cash.

Martinez reportedly told police that his roommate, Jesus Gracia, would wait outside in the car for him to come out with the stolen items.

Police say Gracia admitted he had gotten some of the money stolen in the burglaries.

The men also reportedly told police that they had given the guns stolen in the burglaries to Erick Orozco.

Martinez has been charged with four counts of aggravated burglary-deadly weapon, four counts of theft and one count of burglary. He could face up to 150 years in prison if convicted on all nine counts.
