An accident between a motorcycle and a car forced traffic in the southbound lane of the South Greeley Highway to be diverted and sent a motorcyclist to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. David Wagener of the Wyoming Highway Patrol says troopers were called to the accident scene a little before 2 p.m.

He says the accident involved a 1977 Honda motorcycle and a 2000 Ford Expedition, but says the accident is still under investigation and the exact details of what happened haven't yet been determined.

Wagener says the traffic diversion remained in effect until a little after 3:30 p.m.

Authorities have so far not released the names of the people involved, but Wagener says the motorcyclist was sent to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center as a result of the accident.
