Emotions will be running high tonight at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, as the Wyoming Cowgirls play their home finale against Utah State. It will be a chance for seniors Kaylee Hoffman, Chelan Landry and Fallon Lewis to say thank you and for fans to say good-bye.

Wyoming head coach Joe Legerski says, “I can’t say enough about all three seniors and the leadership they’ve provided… but you see the positiveness of all three of them.” Legerski is proud of what they’ve provided to the program.

The three seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to tonight’s game, which starts at 7 p.m.

Hoffman and Landry have been with the program for four years, while Lewis came to UW after two years at Sheridan College.

Hoffman said, “It’s gone so fast. It’s finally here. I can’t even believe it. I know me and Chelan will probably shed tears, and Fallon. It’s bittersweet; it’s awesome, and it’ll be even better with a win.”

The Wyoming Cowgirls enter tonight with a 19-8 overall record and are 10-6 in the Mountain West Conference.

As they seek their 20th victory this season, head coach Joe Legerski says, “The expectations were very high for this team, but they had lost so much. To be sitting here on the verge of 20 wins, they’ve really established themselves. They’ve overcome so much. I’m very pleased with where we’re at when you look at the total of what this season has become.”

Tonight’s opponent is Utah State. The Aggies are 13-15 on the season and only 7-10 in conference games, but present a big challenge with the league’s top scorer. Senior Jennifer Schlott is averaging 27 points per game in Mountain West play. She has scored 30 or more points in five straight games.

Schlott poured in 38 against the Cowgirls earlier this season, when Utah State beat UW in Logan, Utah, 80-75, back on February 1.

Wyoming seeks revenge tonight with the game tipping off at 7 p.m.
