A Bill To Speed Limit In Wyoming Clears Another Hurdle [AUDIO]
Speed Limit Bill
The House passed a bill on second reading Friday that would allow the speed limit to be increased to 80 mph on certain stretches of highways. The bill’s sponsor, House Speaker Representative Tom Lubnau, says the speed limit would not be raised everywhere in the state but the bill would allow the speed limit to be raised in areas where it can be done safely. The bill needs to pass one more reading in the House before moving on to the Senate.
Sage Grouse Implementation Bill
The House passed a bill on second reading that would put into statute what the Sage Grouse Implementation Team has been doing to protect the bird. Right now the work is being done through an executive Order from the Governor’s Office.
A bill sponsored by Senate Vice-President, Senator Eli Bebout that recognizes the Constitutional limitations on rulemaking authority of federal agencies and specifically the Environmental Protection Agency, has passed the Senate and will be heard in a House committee next week.
