At a campaign kickoff event Friday, Laramie County Sheriff Danny Glick announced he will run for a fourth term as sheriff. Glick was first elected Sheriff in 2002. During his speech, Glick thanked the voters for his three terms in office and asked them to put their trust in him again.

Glick said he had concerns about the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in Colorado. He said despite Colorado's actions the "Laramie County sheriff’s department will not change the way it enforces marijuana laws."

Glick said one of the biggest challenges facing the sheriff’s office throughout his third term has been maintaining staffing levels as veteran deputies retire. He said “we have had to become innovative in our recruitment process and added that the department has had to start advertising away from Laramie County to bring candidates in.”
