Police continue to investigate a double homicide that occurred at a Cheyenne coin shop eight months ago.

"That's the only crime that I get an update on every single day," said Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak. "It's surprising to me that every day there's something new that we're looking at, a different angle."

67-year-old Dwight Brockman and 76-year-old George Manley were shot to death during an armed robbery at The Coin Shop on July 20, 2015. Brockman owned the business, while Manley was a frequent customer.

Investigators have collected more than 100 pieces of evidence in the case, but they are still waiting on a lab in Colorado to release DNA test results.

"We wanted to use the very best, latest technology on that case and that's why we took it to Colorado," said Kozak. "Our state lab does DNA testing, but Colorado has a device that actually sucks the DNA off of an item and it's about 10 times more effective than the swab method that Wyoming uses."

"We have some pretty good leads now that we're tracking down, but we're kind of waiting for that DNA evidence to come in as well," Kozak added. "We hope that that will bust the case open for us."

Kozak says he doesn't know how long it might take to get the DNA test results back.

"We call them routinely to check the status on it, to request that they can move that up in their priority list," said Kozak. "But it's Colorado and they have a lot of serious crimes as well. And so they put it in a priority list and you know they'll get to it when they get to it unfortunately."
