There are many reasons why residents from Laramie County, Wyoming go to Fort Collins or Denver, Colorado. One reason is to eat at the Waffle House.

Here are some things that you may not have known about the famous Waffle House. We promise not to gross you out, nor make it to where you no longer want to eat there anymore.

The first Waffle House opened in Avondale Estates, Georgia on Labor Day in the year 1955. For a company that is known for never advertising, they do pretty good.

Here are some things you may not have known about your favorite Waffle House.

  1. Bert Is A Real Guy - If you've ever had Bert's Chili, just know that Bert Thornton is a real guy. He was the CEO of Waffle House back in the 1980's and his chili is still to his liking.
  2. Miles And Miles Of Bacon - Believe it or not, Waffle House serves on or about 25,000 miles of bacon every year. That's a lot of bacon.
  3. Yellow And Black - One of the co-founder's, Joe Rogers Senior, chose black and yellow because it brought him memories of a school bus. He thought the colors would be a good way to be visible to drivers. And you thought it was yellow and black because Joe Rogers Junior was a graduate of Georgia Tech.
  4. Waffle House And Valentines Day - It's a pretty big deal to have a Valentine's date at Waffle House. It started at one store and now about 150 different stores participate, to include the one in Colorado.
  5. Big On The T-Bone - You may not believe this, but Waffle House sells about 10,000 T-Bone Steaks a day! That a lot of cow!

There are some other known facts about Waffle House. Their ice tea was named after an employee named Alice, who helped bring their signature tea to perfection.
