Many of us work with the new generation on the job called Millennials. Many jobs are opening with lots of opportunity, but Millennials have their preferences.   Herb Scribner, from Moneywise, recently observed that maybe today's young workforce are asking a bit much before they accept a place in your workplace. Here are 5 jobs that Millennials really are not interested in.

  1. A Regular 9-5 - Many young people don't want what used to be called a regular 9-5 job. Forbes reported that about 72 percent of young people would rather have a job with a purpose, rather than a dead end 9-5.
  2. Dead End Jobs - Youngsters, aged 15-22 stated that they're afraid they won't land a job that accentuates their artistic talents and desires. This was out of 2000 kids that were surveyed, according to The Standard.
  3. Too Much Work - It has been said that "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Millennials want more life and not more work, according to a study. As a matter of fact, more Millennials said they would prefer a pay-cut, if it would mean more time to enjoy life.
  4. Self-Employed - Inc. Magazine reported that Millennials are more likely to be self-employed as many of them have been "traumatized" by bosses.
  5. Corporate Jobs Stink - There is a good book out called "Ties to Tattoos" by Sherry Elliot-Yeary which highlights this perfectly. Millennials don't want to have to wear suits and ties. According to CNN Money, they would much rather work in a medium sized business that promotes a more fun atmosphere and environment.
