It seems we are getting closer and closer to see the Children's Museum of Cheyenne becoming a reality. Many are confused about the facts, however we are not.

The economic impact that the Children's Museum of Cheyenne will have on the community is substantial.

Using assumptions provided by CMC and the Cheyenne Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the Wyoming Business Council conducted an economic impact study on the benefits of CMC's annual operations in downtown Cheyenne.

Here are 5 facts, that you may not have known, about what they have found.

  1. $58 dollars average daily spending per visitor locally
  2. An annual increase in local payroll of $311,840.00
  3. 21 additional jobs (direct and indirect)
  4. An annual increase in local taxes of $24,138.00
  5. An annual increase of $696,000 in visitor spending

There are other facts, such as, but not limited to: the annual increase in state taxes of $26,151, 12,000 annual tourists visiting, not to mention businesses and the downtown economy increasing as well.

Do keep in mind that these numbers were projected without the performing arts space numbers, so all of the numbers are purported very conservatively. Having said that, annual visitors have been projected as over 45,000, which increases the state and local taxes as well.
