Three men suffered serious burns in a flash fire at an oil rig northeast of Cheyenne Monday morning.

"A few employees of a welding company contracted to contracted to Kaiser-Francis Oil Company were making some repairs to a pipe fitting and when they started welding there was an explosion," said Laramie County Fire District 2 Operations Chief Manny Muzquiz. "The natural gas that was in the area just kind of burst into flames and burnt three guys pretty severely. They had about 20 to 30 percent burns over their bodies."

Muzquiz says one man was AirLifed to the Western States Burn Center at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.  The other two were taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and then transferred to the burn center.
