The end is in sight for two major road construction projects in Cheyenne.

Mayor Rick Kaysen says crews are expected to finish up work on Phase I of the 19th Street Reconstruction Project later this month and the Logan Avenue Reconstruction Project by the end of next month.

"On 19th Street we are on schedule, in fact we're ahead of schedule just a little bit," said Mayor Kaysen. "We're currently working on the design for Phase II, that will take it then from Warren Avenue over to roughly Crow Creek down 19th Street in the western part of our community."

As part of the Logan Avenue Reconstruction Project, the intersection of East 19th Street and Logan Avenue will open and the intersection of East 20th Street and Logan Avenue will close on Monday, October 12. Motorists traveling westbound are advised to take Pershing Boulevard since East 19th Street is a one-way eastbound street. Logan Avenue will remain closed from East Pershing Boulevard to just north of East 19th Street.

"We are making pretty good progress on Logan Avenue with an anticipated completion date during the later part of November," said Mayor Kaysen.

The projects are being funded by the 5th Penny Sales Tax and the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities.
