19th Street Between Evans & Morrie to Open Thursday

19th Street between Evans Avenue and Morrie Avenue will open to traffic early Thursday, July 2.

"Phase I of this construction project is ahead of schedule," said Nathan Beauheim, acting City Engineer.  "We are delighted with the progress the contractor has made on this busy thoroughfare within the heart of Cheyenne."

Remaining work between Warren Avenue and Evans Avenue will resume after Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Phase I of the 19th Street Reconstruction Project includes stormwater work; the replacement of sewer and water lines; curb, gutter and sidewalk work; new traffic signals; and reconstruction of the road and new road surface.  Work on Phase I is scheduled to be completed by October 30, 2015.

Phase II, which runs from Warren Avenue to Crow Creek, is scheduled to take place in 2016.
