The intersection of 19th Street and Logan Avenue will close Sunday evening, August 9 as part of the Logan Avenue Reconstruction Project.

The closure is expected to last until October 12.

Detours will be in place and traffic will be rerouted onto 20th Street where it will become a two-way street between Rollins Avenue and Logan Avenue. Traffic heading east will then be rerouted to East Pershing Boulevard.

Logan Avenue is being reconstructed between Nationway and East Pershing Boulevard. The project includes new sanitary sewer, water lines, stormwater drains, sidewalks, curb, gutter and new road surface. Motorists will have access to all businesses.

Logan Avenue between East Lincolnway and Nationway has been finished.

The project is slated to be completed in late November 2015. Reiman Corp. of Cheyenne is the general contractor for the project.

The cost of this project is $7.7 million with funding from the Fifth-Penny Sales and Use Tax, and the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities.

Motorists are reminded that 19th Street between Warren Avenue and Evans Avenue is currently closed for the 19th Street Reconstruction Project. Traffic is being rerouted onto 18th Street. The 19th Street Reconstruction Project is expected to be finished in late October 2015.

The State of Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin work on Lincolnway between Capitol Avenue and House Avenue on Monday, August 10, 2015.

That project includes replacement of curb, gutter, and stormwater inlets along with a new road surface. The Lincolnway project is expected to be finished by late October 2015.

Motorists wanting to avoid the construction zones can use Pershing Boulevard.
