Life Care Centers of America honored Bryan Merrell, executive director at Life Care Center of Cheyenne, with its Mountain States Division President’s Award on Sept. 10, 2012. Two President’s Awards were given for the division, presented for distinguished service in the long-term health care management role. Merrell was praised for leading the facility to achieve positive state survey results, caring personally for residents and staying involved with his university to bring students to job shadow at the facility. Fourteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care. Criteria for winners include at least two years of service with Life Care, adherence to the company’s mission and values statement and successful financial performance. Founded in 1976, Life Care is a nationwide health care company. With headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn., Life Care operates or manages more than 220 nursing, post-acute and Alzheimer’s centers in 28 states.
